Kepak Group, one of Europe’s leading food producers, is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Ancillary Operative to join our team at our Bodmin site. This role is situated within the food production industry, which plays a vital role in supplying high-quality food products to consumers across the globe. As an Ancillary Operative at our Bodmin site, you will contribute to the company’s proud heritage of meat craft, trusted quality, and excellent service.

You will be working in slaughtering performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialized slaughtering tasks, cutting standard or premium cuts of meat for marketing. The slaughter and preparation of animals for human consumption.

 

You will be starting at 06:30 and finishing when production finishes, this will be Monday to Friday.

 

The salary for this role starts at £11.94 and increases with competency based assessments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment necessary for the production process.
  • Monitor and maintain product quality standards throughout the production line.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and promptly report any issues or malfunctions.
  • Assist in the packaging and labeling of finished products according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold the highest level of hygiene and quality.
  • Be able to Lift weights and be able to move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift duration.
  • Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to use
  • Other duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the food production industry is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Understanding of and commitment to following health and safety regulations.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
