At our St. Merryn site in Merthyr Tydfil, we operate state-of-the-art beef and lamb processing facilities producing retail-ready and branded packaged meats. Every product is crafted with integrity, sourced from local farmers, and prepared by master butchers dedicated to quality and sustainability.

We’re now recruiting Production Operatives to join our Lamb and Beef departments, working within our busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Production Operative, you’ll be part of a skilled team ensuring high standards of processing, hygiene, and safety throughout production. This role involves working in the Lamb or Beef Slaughter area, performing hands-on butchery and preparation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera to separate edible portions from offal.

• Eviscerate and prepare carcasses for further processing.

• Dress carcasses and ensure correct hanging and preparation standards.

• Remove feet, ears, horns, and offal as per specification.

• Trim, clean, and cure hides and meat products.

• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times.

• Contribute to a safe, efficient, and team-oriented working environment.

About You

• Experience in food or meat processing environments is desirable.

• Physically fit and comfortable working in production or abattoir settings.

• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to learn and undertake specialist training provided by Kepak.

• Commitment to upholding health & safety, hygiene, and animal welfare standards.
