QA Operative — Cranswick Country Foods, Preston (Hull)
QA Operative Preston Hull roles are available with Cranswick Country Foods, a leading UK food producer supplying premium products to major retailers and foodservice customers. This vacancy is listed via the Meatex Jobs Board and is based at Cranswick’s flagship pork manufacturing site on Staithes Road, Preston, Hull.
Role overview
In this role, you will support food safety, quality and compliance across a busy FMCG production environment. From day one, you will carry out routine quality checks, audits and verifications to ensure products, processes and records meet internal, customer and legal standards. As a result, you will play a key role in maintaining product integrity and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities

Carry out label and process control audits every 1–2 hours

Complete temperature verification checks (product, environment, sterilisers and handwash stations)

Collect chemical, microbiological and organoleptic samples in line with schedules

Perform calibration checks and accurately record results

Conduct pre-operational hygiene inspections and escalate failures immediately

Complete GMP audits and fabrication checks, communicating corrective actions

Verify CCP controls relevant to your area and report any non-conformances

Ensure closure of non-conformances and prevent recurrence

Carry out quality attribute checks on finished products

Complete raw material intake checks against specifications
What you’ll bring
You bring strong attention to detail, a structured approach and confidence working to food safety standards. Experience in a QA, technical or experienced production role is preferred, alongside prior FMCG manufacturing exposure, ideally within food. In addition, you understand hygiene and food safety requirements and can work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Pay, hours and location
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Preston, Hull (HU12).

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:30

Contract: 40 hours, with daily overtime typically required until around 16:00

Overtime paid at time and a quarter
