Kepak McIntosh Donald are looking for Quality Assurance Operative to join our Technical Team.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40hrs/week, 6am start.
Starting Pay Rate: £11.44/h
Job Purpose:
To provide a vital support service to the assigned production area by ensuring all customer, legislative and industry required checks are completed to schedule and documented accordingly. Play a key role in the control, monitoring and verification activities required by the sites H.A.C.C.P and food safety management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and verify product to ensure compliance to relevant legislative and customer specifications through daily check lists, such as: temperature, contamination, labels, weight, packaging etc.
- Monitor and verify that all product due to leave the site is within the legislative and customer specifications, and within the limits and defined criteria set out in the relevant specifications, such as: contamination, temperature, labels, weight, packaging etc.
- Ensure all product labels are accurate, to the required standard and of high print quality.
- Complete all monitoring and/or verification practices in line with the H.A.C.C.P plan.
- Take environmental swabs and product samples for microbiological testing, uploading samples onto laboratory software and prepare for despatch.
- Ensure pH of product is within customer specification and monitor the trends of pH results.
- Liaise with production staff to monitor foreign body risks to product.
- Undertake Good Manufacturing Practice audits to ensure production areas meeting legislative and customer requirements and liaise with production supervisors on outcome.
- Take DNA samples, verify samples taken and prepare for despatch to external laboratory.
- Carry out E.Coli testing to customer specification within internal laboratory.
- Assist in the preparation for external audits.
- Maintain accurate and legible documented records.
- Any other duties as requested by management and within the competency of the post holder.
Requirements
- No previous experience needed as long as you are willing to learn and progress
- A decisive, results orientated self-starter with high energy levels and initiative
- Good communications skills both written and verbal is essential
- Professional approach, strong influencing skills
- Meticulous attention to detail essential
- Sound understanding of integrity and compliance to food safety and hygiene requirements
