This is a senior, hands-on quality leadership role with responsibility for people management, food safety culture, audits, and continuous improvement across the site.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will lead and motivate a quality team of approximately four colleagues while driving high standards of GMP, audit performance, and food safety culture across the business.
Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will have day-to-day accountability for the Quality department and related functions, ensuring that product quality, legality, and safety are never compromised. You will work collaboratively with operational teams to identify risks, agree solutions, and embed best practice across the site.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Act as site champion for the Food Safety Culture Action Plan

Drive environmental hygiene standards and manage relationships with contract hygiene providers and suppliers

Lead internal audits against BRCGS and customer Codes of Practice

Manage GMP, Fabric, Glass and Plastic audit schedules and outcomes

Own the non-conforming product process, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and recorded
-
Work closely with production teams to support product launches and documentation

Coordinate traceability and mass balance exercises
-
Lead customer complaint investigations and corrective action plans
-
Maintain strong shop floor presence and provide day-to-day support to QA colleagues
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a confident and collaborative quality professional who brings:

Demonstrable experience in a food manufacturing quality role

Proven people management and team leadership experience

Strong understanding of GMP, audits, and food safety systems

Ability to influence operational teams and drive practical improvements

Clear communication skills and a calm, solutions-focused approach
Qualifications & Technical Skills
You will ideally hold:
-
HACCP Level 3
-
Internal Auditor Level 3 (preferred)
-
CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for Manufacturing
-
Strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
