Role overview

You will support the shop manager with the day-to-day running of the retail butcher shop while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves preparing and serving a full range of protein products, maintaining displays and ensuring the shop operates efficiently, safely and to company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the manager in daily shop operations

• Cut, prepare and serve meat products, including sausages and mince

• Handle raw and cooked foods within a deli and chilled cabinet environment

• Deliver fast, friendly and professional customer service

• Manage stock control, waste and ordering systems

• Maintain merchandising, displays and department layout

• Set up and close down counters and pre-pack areas

• Support promotions and shop marketing plans

• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards

• Complete legal and quality records as required

• Assist with new product launches and quality checks

What you’ll bring

You have at least three years’ experience working on a fresh meat counter and are confident serving customers directly. You’re a strong communicator, a team player and able to work under pressure. A positive attitude, self-motivation and good knowledge of hygiene and HACCP standards are essential. Fluent English is required.
