Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Programme Overview
As an Abattoir Apprentice, you will:

Learn core abattoir operations through factory and classroom-based training

Work towards a Level 2 Abattoir Apprenticeship qualification

Understand customer specifications and their commercial impact

Gain insight into lean manufacturing, stress prevention, and animal welfare

Develop safe working practices and industry-recognised skills
Key Responsibilities
You will:

Attend required training sessions and complete coursework to agreed standards

Work collaboratively with colleagues and departments under the Training Supervisor’s guidance

Meet deadlines and productivity targets as part of the team

Adhere strictly to health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times

Build understanding of the meat sector’s values, culture, and traditions
