Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Commercial Controller you should be able to: promote, educate and sell Cranswick Pet products and services to potential and current customers in your assigned territory. Also, you should be able to conduct in-depth research and identify any new business opportunities.
You should also be able to provide excellent customer service and the ability to resolve any queries in a timely manner. Moreover, you should be able to develop and implement your own effective sales techniques and strategies.
As a Territory Sales Representative, you need in depth knowledge of the pet industry, additionally you should have strong awareness of the key pet retailers within the southern area of the UK especially London and inside the M25. The successful candidate will need to be target driven, self-motivated but work well as part of a close team.
Main Duties:
- Researching and identifying new business opportunities and then once identified build relationships with these new prospects.
- Explaining and promoting the company’s products and services to clients, whilst expanding the portfolio of products the buy from CPP.
- Collaborating with the Sales Representatives from other territories as and when required.
- Resolving customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Implementing effective sales techniques in the assigned territory to increase company sales.
- Attending and networking at various sales events and trade shows.
- Monitoring competitor sales activities within your assigned territory.
- Hit agreed sales and other performance based KPI’s
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
- A minimum of 2 years work experience as a Territory Sales Representative within the Pet industry in the South of the UK.
- Excellent Knowledge of the Pet industry, preferably within dog and cat food categories.
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel to different locations
- Ability to work under pressure and manage strict deadlines
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A team player and ability to work independently
- Ability to offer excellent customer service
