SCOTLAND AREA – Stoddart’s are a leading, independent Scottish beef processing company who deliver best quality Scottish beef to our loyal customer base.
We are seeking candidates interested in developing their skills and knowledge to become a trained Butcher within our site at Broxburn. In this role you will report to our Assistant Production Manager and be responsible for ensuring that the production process runs as efficiently as possible, is aligned to customer specification and to Health & Safety regulations.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 6am to 2.20pm. This position is permanent, fully onsite and with an hourly rate from £11.44 depending on experience.
As Trainee Butcher, your key duties will include:
- Learn how to use a knife to trim beef to specification.
- Learn how to visually inspect product for contamination and to remove this from the product.
- Develop a knowledge of product specifications.
- Learn how to maintain a sharp knife.
- Manually handle product and product in trays.
- Support the department with general production operative duties.
- Undertake and complete Level 2 SVQ Modern Apprenticeship qualification in relevant subject area.
