Role: Trainee Meat Trimmer/Butcher
Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 6am-3pm
Pay: £12.73 per hour plus bonus, rising to £13.42 per hour plus bonus after training
Location: Company transport available from Bedford Town Centre
About the role: Join an industry leader offering training and progression opportunities. Work in a production environment within a meat processing plant for one of Europe’s leading food companies, supplying major supermarkets, foodservice and manufacturing businesses across 50+ countries worldwide. Develop skills to prepare, bone and trim product to customer specifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Use knives safely following company procedures
- Bone and trim beef products to customer specifications
- Cut product to precise weight and thickness requirements
- Advise management on raw material quality issues
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Maintain yield and quality standards
Required skills/experience:
- Good communication and teamworking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desire to progress and commitment to undertaking training
- Food industry or similar experience advantageous, but full training provided
