Salary: Competitive (on application)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30–17:00 (includes 2 × 30-minute breaks)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Reporting to: Boning Hall Manager

This is an entry-level butchery role within the Boning Hall team, ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in meat processing. You’ll work as part of a fast-paced production team, learning how to prepare lamb products safely and efficiently while meeting strict quality, welfare, and customer specifications.
Full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Butcher, you will:

Cut, trim, and prepare lamb products to specification
-
Follow quality, animal welfare, and ethical procedures at all times

Adhere to traceability processes and ensure labelling integrity
-
Comply with company policies on food safety and hygiene
-
Work to production standards and deadlines
-
Seek and complete training to develop skills and best practice knowledge
-
Carry out all tasks safely in line with health & safety requirements

Support colleagues and production teams to meet daily targets

You will:

Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

Follow detailed operating procedures with strong attention to detail

Be physically fit and comfortable with manual, physically demanding work

No previous butchery experience is required.
