VP, Retail Sales – Commercial Business Unit Lead — Sofina Foods, Malton
Role overview
You will take end-to-end responsibility for one of Sofina Foods Europe’s most significant retail business units. Combining strategic direction with hands-on leadership, you will own performance across a high-value customer portfolio while setting the vision for growth, partnerships and team capability. You will work cross-functionally to ensure customer strategies are commercially robust and executable.
Key responsibilities

Own and deliver the end-to-end commercial strategy for the business unit

Lead revenue, margin and profit performance with full P&L accountability

Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with major UK retailers

Shape joint business plans with clear commercial discipline

Lead, develop and motivate a multi-disciplinary commercial team

Own forecasting, budgeting and commercial planning cycles

Collaborate with operations, technical and innovation teams

Ensure alignment with Sofina Foods Europe’s wider retail growth strategy
What you’ll bring
You are a senior commercial leader with deep experience in UK grocery and or convenience retail. You bring proven leadership within FMCG or food manufacturing across chilled, frozen and ambient categories, with a strong track record of growing major UK retail accounts. You demonstrate excellent financial acumen, strong customer credibility at senior level, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with execution-focused delivery.
Pay, benefits and location
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Malton, North Yorkshire, with significant onsite presence and frequent travel to customers and Sofina sites. Sofina Foods offers a competitive salary plus car allowance, company bonus scheme, company pension scheme, enhanced sick pay, private medical insurance and relocation assistance. Working pattern is Monday to Friday.
