Both liveweight and deadweight GB lamb prices rose in the latest week.

In the week ending 2 December, the GB liveweight NSL SQQ rose by 2.4p to average 216.2p/kg. The measure continues to run well above historic prices, being up 22.6p on last year’s price and up 40.6p on the five-year average.

Estimated throughput at British marts was just under 135,000 head, up 4% on the week, and up 6% on the same week last year.

On the deadweight front, the GB NSL SQQ enjoyed a weekly jump of 11.7p to average 473.9p/kg in the week ending 28 November. This puts the measure 50.6p above that of the same week last year, and 82.1p above the five-year average.
