As an Abattoir Operative, you’ll be responsible for dressing, trimming, and processing carcasses to company and customer specifications while maintaining the highest hygiene, yield, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Dress and trim carcasses in accordance with ABP and customer specifications, following supervisor direction.

Produce red and green offal to meet company and customer quality standards.

Maintain maximum yield and minimise waste across all tasks.

Operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with hygiene and Health & Safety procedures.

Work as part of a team, taking responsibility for production standards and teamwork.

Report any issues with equipment or machinery to the Abattoir Supervisor.

Identify and communicate training needs or improvement opportunities.

Ensure compliance with all company policies on food handling, hygiene, and safety.

Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.

Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Abattoir Supervisor.
Knowledge & Experience
-
Understanding of hygiene and food safety procedures.

Basic knife skills, including knife safety and sharpening.

Awareness of manual handling techniques.

Familiarity with PPE use and maintenance.

Previous abattoir or meat industry experience preferred (training provided).
