Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to learn new skills that are very interesting and in demand within the Meat Industry.
We are keen to give people an opportunity at Dunbia Preston to learn and progress within the business which is a Major Supplier of Beef and Lamb to retailers.
We are not asking for experience but what we do wish for is enthusiasm and willingness and reliability to take on a new challenge and learn new skills.
Working 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday each week these shifts provide fantastic work life balance with 3 days off.
Alternatively, you can have the opportunity to join other departments for overtime.
Responsibilities
The Role
- Understand and learn the key principles of abattoir.
- Learn about different parts of red meat.
- Learn how to carry out the slaughter of cattle and lamb.
- Prepare tools and equipment for use.
- Understand and maintain product quality.
- Learn and apply food safety and hygiene standards.
- Understand the importance of health and safety within the Food industry.
- Support other departments when required by management.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualification:
- Have a commitment to quality work and reliability.
- Be willing to gain new skills and experience.
- Possess good communication and team working skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
- Be able to follow instructions and procedures.
- Be safety conscious.
