Surrey Hills Butchers are currently looking for Butchers and Assistants of all levels for their multi award winning Butchers Shop at their newest site based inTongham.
The role will involve assisting with the day to day running of the butchers counter and your responsibilities will include:
*Serving and dealing with customers, most of which are regulars so remembering names and faces is a big part of the role.
*Customer service is key to this role, so offering advice on cuts and cooking techniques is essential; a passion for food and cooking is definitely preferred.
*Working closely with the butchers to create new and innovative products that will excite and interest the customers based around labour saving items.
*Working closely with the butchers to ensure the displays and windows are kept looking fresh and interesting.
*Ensuring products are checked for quality and weight both on their way into and out of the shop.
*Ensuring that the shop and your work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
*Ensuring that all paperwork is filled out on a daily basis in line with EHO Guidelines.
*Completing butchery tasks to ensure that the shop is kept stocked at all times.

The role will start as a team butcher but can evolve in to something much bigger, including a management role.
The role will be for Tuesday – Saturday.
What we are looking for:
- An established butcher or chef that is looking for a change.
- Experience working within a customer facing role preferably in retail.
- Amazing customer service skills and the enjoyment of conversing with customers.
- Butchery skills would be preferred but can be easily taught.
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate would be preferred.
