For over 50 years Tom Hixson of Smithfield has operated within the historic setting of Smithfield market. In addition to selling directly to customers visiting the market, we also deliver to businesses across the UK and have a rapidly growing website selling direct to consumers.

Our B2B trade has been the backbone of the company for many years. We are planning substantial growth in our B2C online delivery service over the coming years. All of us are very excited about the future.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-centric individual to join our team as a Customer Service and Administration Manager. As the primary point of contact for our B2C and B2B clientele, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction, managing order-related issues and handling inquiries. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of customer service principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Communication:

Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, live chat, and text.

Manage and resolve customer concerns related to orders, deliveries, and product inquiries.

Provide product information and assist customers in making informed purchase decisions.

Order Management:

Process and track customer orders from placement to delivery.

Collaborate with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.

Address and resolve any issues related to order processing.

Customer Relationship Management:

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to enhance loyalty and satisfaction.

Gather feedback from customers and report insights to the wider business for continuous improvement.

Finance Administration:

Ensuring routine finance tasks are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.

Tasks include:

Supplier invoice processing

Supplier payments

Sales delivery review and invoice processing

Customer receipt input & allocation

Ordering office stationery & other supplies

Reporting and Documentation:

Document customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in a systematic manner.

Prepare regular reports on customer service metrics and sales performance.

Communicate trends, challenges, and opportunities to the broader team.

Process Improvement:

Identify areas for process improvement in workflows.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements that streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.

Experience:

Previous experience in both B2B and B2C industry. Familiarity with meat wholesale or food industry operations is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Decent numeracy skills.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.

Can do attitude and ability to take on a challenge.

Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
