Hours of Work: 42.5 hours per week, Permanent Full-Time (Mon-Fri) – 8am to 5pm with occasional overtime available.
Rate of Pay: £11.44 per hour rising to £11.50 plus bonus once training is completed.
We are actively seeking applications from individuals keen to take up a career within one of Europe’s leading food processing companies. This is an opportunity to join a well-established team, within our Despatch department as a Despatch Operative.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and packing items for despatch accurately, on time and in accordance with instructions.
- Stack products correctly in chills. Regular stocktaking and rotation of stock in chill storage.
- Check that correct number of crates on each pallet have been scanned and correct destination recorded.
- Process relevant documentation for each consignment.
- Load containers and ensure pallets have been scanned and checked prior to loading, enclosing documentation.
- Some associated duties in other departments when required, e.g., Loading Bay;
- Promote and maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
- Work to a ‘clean as you go policy’, ensure the Despatch area is always kept clean and tidy in line with the cleaning plan.
- Other associated duties.
Qualifications
Essential
- Possess good communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Good level of verbal and written English.
Desirable
- Previous experience in the food industry is advantageous.
- Reach truck licence
