Job Title: Factory Management Accountant

Reports to: Finance Director

Position Purpose Statement

Responsible for the preparation and reporting of weekly management accounts and operational reports, which support decision making within the overall business. Well organized, the post holder will be confident working with staff at all levels within the company and confident challenging information collated. An eye for detail, good presentation skills and highly competent on excel, the Cost Accountant will ensure all reporting is accurate and meaningful and provides such information as required by directors, departmental managers and relevant authorities, in a in a timely and accurate manner, whilst driving the optimisation of cash and supporting the overall strategic aims and key deliverables of the business.

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities

  • Preparation of weekly operating results.
  • Preparation and analysis of operational yields.
  • Reconciliation of external stocks
  • Review and prepare weekly stock report & analysis.
  • Preparation of procurement analysis reports
  • Maintaining production and raw material prices.
  • Supporting the Finance Director in the delivery of strategic projects / objectives and provision of financial information to support the business met its objectives.
  • Assist Financial Controller as required, particularly during holidays.
  • Ongoing review of people, processes and procedures to ensure departmental and organisational goals are achieved and continue to strengthen.
  • Ability to assist with management of daily cashflow and bank reporting requirements as required.
  • Proactively work with Accounts Payable / Receivables functions on resolving customer / supplier stock claims / disputes.
  • Preparation of farmer bonus accruals.
  • Preparation of payroll analysis.
  • Provide financial & cost modelling to support projects / business decisions as required.
  • Challenge and support the business and encourage a one team culture and a can-do approach

Qualifications/Skills/Previous Knowledge

  • Part – Qualified Accountant / Qualified by Experience with previous experience in similar role.
  • Some experience of FMCG / Food manufacturing / processing environment beneficial.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process and costing experience would be an advantage.
  • Excel modeling and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience of Systems Integration (SI) and / or Microsoft Navision beneficial although not essential.
