We have a fantastic opportunity for a Food Technologist to join the team at Kepak Kirkham. The successful candidate will work closely with our NPD team on new and exciting products and product improvements in Consumer Foods. You will work on our established Rustlers, Feasters, and retailer own-label brands. You will take full ownership for the Technical responsibility of the project, building great relationships with NPD, Marketing, the Technical team and other key stakeholders across the business along the way. There are some exciting projects on the horizon for 2024, so this is the perfect time to join a thriving team and grow your career with Kepak.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Joining the Technical Service team you will be working on pack copy, calculating nutritionals and advising on any on pack claims for products made at both Kepak Foods sites.
  • Liaising with external designers, printers and key stakeholders to ensure all packaging and labelling meets legal/regulatory requirements in the country in which it is being marketed.
  • Manage the artwork approval process for your projects.
  • Approve raw material specifications used in your project.
  • Approval of factory specifications for your project.
  • Working with the business to deliver the required working practices, documentation for BRCGS accreditation.

Requirements

•         A degree in food technology / food science / nutrition or equivalent is desirable.

•         Good knowledge and technical experience in food manufacturing.

•         A sound understanding of Food Law & Food Labelling.

•         Experience with research & investigation of regulatory questions.

•         Experience and knowledge of artwork approval processes is desirable. (Working with discount retailers would be an advantage).

•         To confidently be able to liaise with both Designers & Printers and to be able to work cross functionally.

•         Experience of BRCGS global standard, HACCP, Internal Auditing and Quality Management systems.

•         Comprehensive understanding of an NPD process from concept to launch and enjoys seeing tasks through to the end.
