2 Sisters Food Group in Scunthorpe has a rare opportunity for external candidates to apply to become Intake Operatives. These sought after roles are generally filled by internal applicants via a waiting list but due to increased demand for product we are now recruiting externally.

The Ideal Candidate
Candidates MUST be able to read and write in English as it is a requirement of UK law that all Intake Operatives hold a slaughter licence, the assessment for this licence is only available in English. This is a physically demanding role that will require repetitive movements with the arms back and shoulders.
Experience within food manufacturing would be advantageous, but what we are really looking for is:

Main Responsibilities
As an Intake Operative, you will be working within our Primary (Slaughterhouse) Department handling unprepared birds.
You’ll be expected to:
* Undertake “hang-on” operations, in line with company and customer standards.
* Monitor vital signs and be able to follow emergency protocols in case of an Animal Welfare related incident.
* Report issues directly to Animal Welfare Officer or Department Management as appropriate.
* Ensure that kill lines are full at all times.
* Follow Health and Safety guidelines, looking after yourself and your colleagues.
* Adhere to the strict housekeeping standards expected by the company and its customers.
The Shifts
Intake Operatives work on a rotating shift pattern, AM & PM:
