An exciting and new opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our Management team at Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd, Kings Lynn. You will be responsible for leading the Operations and team members within Low Risk Manufacturing. You will take ownership of the area, using your initiative to resolve problems, communicating the outcomes and demonstrating positive leadership by ensuring your teams are coached, challenged and aligned to key business objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities include but not exhausted to:

Working closely with the Planning and Manufacturing teams ensuring that you have an understanding of the daily and weekly requirements in terms of production, resources, skills and materials.

Set a standard of quality, efficiency and of continuous improvement ensuring products are prepared and produced cost effectively in full compliance with legal standards and prescribed specifications

Identify areas to reduce cost and maximise profit paying attention to standard yield and labour variance.

Record, communicate and take action as appropriate to all KPI’s: including yield, wastage, customer service, plan completion, quality reports, absence, (and all other associated KPI’s).

Ensure excellent standards of General Manufacturing Practice and that the Production areas are audit ready at all times.

Motivate and manage your team by providing leadership and generating team spirit, maintaining discipline, monitoring performance and providing the team feedback on their performance.

Work with the New Product Development team and the Technical team to successfully carry out production trials and launch new products.

From a site perspective manage customer and associate organisation site visits and inspections with a view to demonstrating the organisations capability

Ensure compliance to the ETI base code and Ethical audits (Sedex/SMETA audits)

Support and manage the 5S process within your areas of responsibility to drive continuous improvement and culture change

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of management within a food manufacturing environment and have the ability to work and cope under pressure in this fast paced and ever changing working environment. You will have strong leadership skills and be able to coach and develop your team, have the capability to drive performance across the site and operate in an efficient and effective manner.
