Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Butchery, the Production Manager will effectively manage a multicultural production team, ensuring the highest quality of fresh meat products is produced, using only the finest ingredients and raw materials. They will also maintain the butchery production plan and costs within agreed KPIs whilst ensuring a safe working environment with a focus on zero accidents.

About the role:

Responsibility for the production of all in-house product lines, ensuring all quality and specification standards are met.
Work to production targets and manage production schedules to ensure optimum productivity, achieving the agreed production plan to specified quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
Responsible for area effectiveness, stock, yield, waste, and labour, reporting and highlighting performance against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
Measure labour recovery against standard, ensure any waste is approved through the waste disposal process and investigate all significant +/- material usage.
Work daily with Technical/QA teams to ensure operational quality standards are met and that the production area is ‘audit ready’ at all times.
Responsible for risk assessments of equipment, implementing corrective actions and improvements in line with Company Policy.
Regularly review processes and systems, working with the teams to develop recommendations for improvements and new ways of working that increase efficiency and maximize cost savings across the function.
Ensure ongoing smooth operations of the production facility, through effective employee engagement and industrial relations management.
Responsible for managing, development and training of staff to ensure multi skilling and flexibility.

About you:

Fully qualified Butcher with extensive knowledge of food manufacturing.
Extensive production management experience.
Previous experience of effectively managing and working in a multi-cultural team is essential.
Proven management and leadership abilities in a fast-moving environment.
Previous experience of managing KPIs and reporting performance.
Has the ability to build a high performing team.
Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
Knowledge of the machinery used in production and the ability to ensure maximum productivity.
