The Dunbia Group, Dungannon are looking for a Production Manager to join us and be an integral part of the Production Management Team at our Retail site. Your key focus will be to manage the production process ensuring that customers expectations are met on time whilst complying with quality, safety and efficiency standards. You will manage a team of approximately 50 people, monitoring and developing their performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Part of your remit will be to work closely with other departments across our Retail site such as Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality, Sales, Maintenance, HR and Logistics. On a daily basis you will report into the Operations Manager to provide feedback on the previous days’ production, resourcing and KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the production process, ensuring the optimisation of output, cost and efficiency whilst minimising waste
  • Achieve KPIs including efficiencies, resourcing, quality, yield/giveaway, customer specifications, compliance and on time delivery
  • Foster a teamwork culture to build the production team, address poor performance, instil good communication channels to build a trained and flexible team
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, making recommendations where necessary, adopting a continuous improvement culture using LEAN manufacturing methods
  • Optimise machinery performance by ensuring all equipment is operated, cleaned and maintained correctly
  • Develop a culture of being Audit ready by maintaining and developing training and working practices which are compliant with Company standards, accreditation bodies eg BRC, customer requirements and statutory compliance
  • Generate and analyse production reports to present at Production Meetings
  • Facilitate external and internal audits

Qualifications

  • At least two years’ experience in a production role in a food manufacturing/processing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing principles and practices
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Adaptable to changing demands and priorities
  • Excellent time management skills

 

Desirable

  • Qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline
