Section Manager
Are you an experienced Section Manager with a proven track record in people management?  Do you have experience working within a FMCG environment? Do you thrive working in a fast-paced manufacturing operation?

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Operations across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Section Manager to join our Site Operations team, based at our advanced processing site in Telford, Shropshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of ever-growing advanced site, to help lead and motivate a skilled and diverse team and be an integral part of the site Production as we grow and develop.

Purpose of the role:

As a Section Manager you will be accountable to the Production Manager for the operational output within your designated section to effectively manage all operations and ensure KPIs, targets and business objectives are met.

You will meet all requirements in terms of legislation & company policy, ensuring the safety of employees, equipment, infrastructure and products.

Operating Environment 

This is a predominately factory-based role, inside a large FMCG chilled and highly automated factory environment.
 
Working hours
Sunday – Thursday

21:30 – 06:30

Your key responsibilities as a Section Manager will include:
• Being responsible for the management and development of Team Leaders and colleagues within their zones.
• Leading your section on all food safety, health & safety and quality standards adherence.
• Being the Section lead for customer visits and audits, ensuring effective planning, co-ordination and delivery.
• With direction from the Production Manager, implement continuous improvement initiatives across a range of areas.
• Carrying out line side SICs to filter information to the Production Manager for the shift SICs.
• Utilising allocated resources within your section. Escalate shortfalls in resource, supply chain or asset reliability when required.
• Implementing processes and procedures to ensure the effective capture of data for further analysis by senior management.
• Ensuring consistency in the application of the company’s policies and procedures.
• Developing and reviewing SOPs for designated areas.
• On request, deputise for the Area Production Manager.

What we are looking for:

• An experienced Section Manager or Team Leader who has managed teams in a similar production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience of continuous improvement in a production environment of implementing change through effective management.
• Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations.
• Proven people management skills in a diverse and demanding environment with the ability to lead and motivate the team.
• Excellent communicator at all levels  with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent time management skills, analytical skills.
• Experience of coaching and developing and mentoring a team to ensure they are reaching their capabilities.
