Colyford Butchers, is a well-established, independent, family-run shop in Colyford, Devon. Due to one of our team retiring we are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our small busy team.
The Role
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in upholding our reputation for excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Breaking down whole carcasses into various cuts of meat
- Preparing a variety of fresh cuts for retail sale, ensuring the highest quality standards
- Assisting customers with their selections, offering expert advice on cuts and cooking methods
- Maintaining an attractive and well-stocked display
- Keeping the work area clean and sanitised according to health and safety regulations.
- May also assist with maintaining equipment and managing stock.
About You
- Experience in full carcass butchery (desirable but not essential)
- A strong understanding of different meat cuts and their uses
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using butchering tools.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality

- 41.5 hour working week, with one day off during the week and you will work a Saturday morning. We do not open on a Sunday.
