At DW Gillett, we’re expanding our team and are looking for a hard working, experienced and qualified butcher to join us!
5 days a week (42 hours)
Who we are:
We’re proud to be a family run catering butchers, located in Downton, Salisbury.
We serve the best quality products to local pubs, restaurants and hotels across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. We also offer home delivery for private customers. All of our products are high quality, locally sourced, traditionally butchered, prepared fresh and fully traceable back to the source. We’re open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday to provide top quality service and care for our customers.
Key responsibilities
* Prepare meat into forms ready for cooking using a variety of actions, including boning, tying, grinding, cutting, and trimming.
* Weigh, label, and price a variety of cuts of meat.
* Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards.
* Weigh, wrap, label and store products correctly.
* Receive, inspect and store meat upon delivery.
* Complete production sheets daily.
* Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment.
About you
As a Butcher, you will be dedicated to providing a high quality service for our customers.
We would prefer someone with butchery experience, ideally experience working in a catering butchers or butcher shop. However we are willing to train up somebody keen and willing to learn.
This role is perfect for you if:

You are skilled in precise cutting and preparation of meat products.
You have knowledge in meat products and food safety.
Our offer
Working 42 hours over 5 days a week from 3:00am- 11:45, with an earlier finish on Saturday.
Salary: £22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
Dependent on experience which will be discussed at the interview stage.
