Role Definition:

You will be working as part of the finance team to ensure the needs of the business are met by the delivery information in a timely and effective manner. You will be part of a fast paced, proactive team liaising with both managers at site level and at our Head Office to ensure all deadlines are met as well as improving efficiency and developing current processes. Alongside completing your role, you will manage and lead the team on a day-to-day basis.

 

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week excluding breaks, Monday to Friday [core] must be flexible based on business needs

Reporting to: Site Financial Controller

Responsible For: A team of 4 including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Payroll and Finance Apprentice.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Assist in the production of weekly reports within agreed timescales for submission including overseeing the daily costing analysis and the preparation of KPI information communicating this to the relevant stakeholders.

·        Prepare periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, bridges, variance analysis and commentaries.

·        Prepare and provide financial information for the month-end process and audit.

·        Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions including producing and communicating accurate information as and when required by managers.

·        Review budget spending monthly and provide variance analysis.

·        Validate and ensure that transactions performed in systems within the business are translated into the financial ledgers correctly.

·        Pro-actively take responsibility for the management, training and development of the finance team on a day-to-day basis.

·        Analyse financial performance and so contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts.

·        Provide professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.

·        Management of fixed assets register ensuring all items are live and correctly depreciated.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:

·        ACCA/CIMA qualification – must either be studying or qualified.

·        Able to provide evidence of previous financial management experience.

·        Have experience of working within a FMCG environment.

·        Able to display experience in successfully managing a team.

·        Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction.

·        Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner.

·        Self-motivated with a positive outlook

·        Focus on attention to detail and maintaining high standards.

·        Knowledge and experience in intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel
