Machine Minder
The purpose of the Machine Minder role is to ensure that all equipment on the department is operated correctly and efficiently, whilst carrying out appropriate frontline maintenance to maintain and improve the equipment performance and maximise product output whilst maintaining product quality.
To support and act as a deputy to the Line Leader in making sure the department is constantly and consistently running to a high standard by proactively identifying issues and taking action to resolve them in a timely manner.
Your job will include (but not limited to)
Setting up and maintaining All line machinery & computer equipment at the beginning of the shift and throughout
Ensuring the machinery is adjusted to the required setting for each specific job on the plan
Keeping areas stocked with consumables
Calibrating weight beds and completing timely checks on production process’s including label and metal detection checks and monitoring these throughout the shift, packaging preparation and running up lines.
Ensure the machines and line runs to optimum efficiency by investigating downtime and ensuring corrective action is implemented through SIC (Short Interval Control) reviews and PPM Tasks
Endeavour to keep waste levels to an absolute minimum and continuously work to reduce these levels.
Overseeing department activity, by ensuring all aspects of the area are running at the correct pace.
Cleaning and maintaining machinery and work areas to be at a high standard at all times.
Attend daily meetings when required or in the absence of the Line Leader
